Wheelie Bin Stores

Why Choose A Wheelie Bin Store?

Wheelie bin stores can act as a deterrent against pests such as foxes, cats, and rats. As well as concealing the mundane plastic council bins in an attractive manner, bin stores can also protect your bins getting knocked over by the wind.

With a variety of wheelie bin storage available at Garden Street, from a basic Rowlinson store, to a premium Garden Village Wheelie Bin Store, we suit all budgets and styles.

Do I need to maintain my Wheelie Bin Store?

If you have a wooden wheelie bin store, they may need routine maintenance in the same way as a shed or garden building. Pressure treated bin stores, such as the majority of those available at Garden Street, will never rot, but may look tired in time.

This is due to natural weathering, and some people choose to spruce these up with some Protek wood paint or stain.

If you have a dip treated model, with a base layer preservative, this would need more routine maintenance and restaining or treating every 6 months or so. This is to stop the softwood used for bin stores from rotting.

Are there Bin Stores Available for 3 Bins?

As well as the Rowlinson Double Bin Store, we do also have the Triple Bin Store available. Both of these are available with free mainland UK delivery. They are also available in solid backed pent designs, in single, double and triple.

What Size Wheelie Bin will fit in a bin store?

The most standard bin size in the UK is a 240L wheelie bin, which is used by most councils. This measures 57.5cm (Width) x 107cm (height) x 73cm (depth). This can vary from council to council, but fortunately we cater for all different standard bin sizes at Garden Street.

Whereas of our Rowlinson Bin Stores are designed for the 240 litre plastic wheelie bins, our Garden Village bins have a choice of sizes; from 140L to 360L.

Does my Wheelie Bin Shed need a base?

We recommend all storage, from wheelie bin sheds to larger models, to be built on a level and solid base. If you were to build straight on the ground, the building may be more susceptible to rot and decay, which impacts the lifespan of the product.

Also, if the base is not level, this could skew the structure and cause pulls at the corners. This may cause structural problems, which in turn may stop the doors from opening, or the product performing as well as it should do.

For wheelie bin stores, we'd recommend a solid base such as paving slabs or concrete. We'd avoid putting this directly onto tarmac (as it is brittle and can be uneven), or decking which may rot and cause longer term problems with warping.

What Size Bin Store do I need?

We made a helpful guide to advise which bin store is suitable for your bin. As mentioned, the standard bin size in the United Kingdom is 240L, however different sizes are available which are council dependent.

Before purchasing one of our wheelie bin storage units, we've included a size guide below so you know exactly what litre size your wheelie bin is.
