From Royalcraft furniture maintenance, to wood sustainability, we answer some of the most commonly asked questions that the Garden Street team get asked. If you have any questions that are not covered specific to the Royalcraft range of outdoor furniture, contact our expert team on 0333 577 1926.
Can Royalcraft furniture be left outside in all weather?
All of the Royalcraft furniture is made from strong and durable materials and finished to make it as hardy as possible. All products are designed to be weather-proof however we would recommend that sets such as those in the Henley and Manhattan lines are covered when not in use.
Many of the Royalcraft products, such as the Rattan and Sorento ranges, are completely weather-resistant so can be happily left in the garden all year round. Most cushions come with a showerproof coating, however it is advisable to store the cushions somewhere dry when not in use, to increase their lifespan.
Wooden products such as the Henley and Manhattan lines should be stored under cover during the winter months to keep them looking their best. Tables and chairs can be easily folded up for practical storage.
Yes, the cushions on the rattan range are all removable. They are made from durable fabric treated with a showerproof coating. They can be machine washed on a low temperature and line-dried but should not be tumble-dried. Continuous washing may affect the resistance of the showerproof coating.
Rattan and Sorento furniture should not need any maintenance; however you will find that if left outside all year round it may need bit of a clean in the spring. This can be done easily with a vacuum cleaner and hose pipe or warm soapy water. Then it just needs to be left to dry.
Wooden furniture will fade in colour over time so we recommend regular maintenance to keep it looking its best. Sealer oil will help protect it against the weather; you can treat acacia wood with hardwood or teak oil to maintain the original colour.
The metal Romance ranges will need little or no maintenance.
