When it comes to the purchase of a summerhouse or greenhouse their are many things to consider. The outer and inner dimensions are of course the most important reasons, however it is worth noting which type of glass the manufacturer has decided to use.
Toughened, otherwise known as tempered glass, is a type of safety glass which provides extra strength compared to normal glass. If hit by something, such as a football or large stone the window/door stresses causing the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass creates. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
This glass is a favourite for use in sheds, greenhouses and summerhouses.
