Using Trimmers Correctly and Safely
Grass trimmers are straightforward and relatively easy to use, however, there are some safety points to bear in mind while operating the machinery.
Protective clothing should be considered when using trimmers to avoid any potential injuries. Some trimmers can be quite loud, and it is advised to wear ear defenders to avert any long term ear or hearing damage. If a trimmer gets too close to gravel, it can cause unexpected debris to hit the face or body. Try to wear long trousers and sleeves and protective eye wear to prevent debris, such as stones and small twigs, causing injury to any exposed skin.
To ensure your trimmer has a longer life span, try not to use it in wet weather as the wet grass can slowly wear down the motor. If the ground you also run the risk of slipping when using in wet weather. To avoid tripping or slipping, never walk backwards or sideways while operating a grass trimmer.
