Are Garden Benches Easy to Assemble?

Building a garden bench may be easier than you may think. With the benches at Garden Street coming in pre-composed parts, the ensures that delivery is quicker than putting each individual slat together. For example, with the Alexander Rose Roble Turnberry Bench, the seat, sides, and back is pre-made, and simply requires screwing together.

Does My Bench Need to Be Pressure Treated?

This depends on the type of finish and wood which you are after, and if you wish to routinely maintain your piece. Choosing pressure treated timber means that your wood will never rot (although it may look weathered and tired after a while), but the downside of this is that piece would initially come in a greenish/natural finish. Although this is a preferred choice by some people, as pressure treatment is only typically used on softwood like pine, it means that there is less choice on wood type. For example, you couldn't choose a Eucalyptus pressure treated bench. If you prefer softwood, the Rowlinson Softwood Bench is a great choice.

If you are happy to routinely maintain your bench, such as revarnishing or using a top layer preservative like a Protek Paint, it does not matter if you bench is pressure treated or not. This means that you have a wider range of wood types to choose from, and stained or painted finishes to choose from. Popular choices include the painted Greenhurst Lutyens Bench, and the stained Rowlinson Willington bench.
